Scala 1/150

This is a 1/150 scale model of a 18000 DWT chemical tanker built by the Celik Tekne Shipyard Istanbul – Turkey for Mediterranea di Navigazione S.p.A. of Ravenna – Italy.

The model is completely built from scratch. It's 102 cm long and about 17 cm wide. The hull was built by bonding together individually cut sections. Then, the entire waterlines was sanded as a single piece to obtain the correct line. The canopy deck is made of beech and birch plywood of different thickness. The pipes on the canopy deck were made using copper, brass and other materials. The painting of the model was done with Humbrol Enamels colors.

This model is displayed on brass stands with a chestnut-wood base. The model is equipped with a dust-proof showcase and a brass label with the name and the technical data of the ship. This model was commissioned by Mediterranea di Navigazione S.p.A. in 2009.
